Pelvic Floor Weakness

Pelvic Floor Weakness can occur at any age but is more likely to occur after childbirth or during the menopause. When your pelvic floor muscles are weak you are more likely to develop bladder problems like stress and urge incontinence, prolapse and over-active bladder.

Here at West Limerick Physiotherapy Clinic we specialise in the assessment and treatment of pelvic floor muscles. An assessment is carried out and your pelvic floor muscles are graded from 0-5 on the Modified Oxford Scale. From this assessment an individual exercise programme is designed to help strengthen and maintain your pelvic floor strength.
